Why Can't They Find a Convicting Bible Verse to Put Up There?                                     08/07/08

 
Can you see John the Baptist or the Apostle Paul chiseling some weak cliché into a hillside?  If you have an example of perfectly good space in front of a church being wasted by a cheap cliché instead of something biblically salty, send it to us for posting.  Many dumb church signs are really warning signs that say, "If you value biblically sound teaching, you won't find it at this church."

Are they saying a little dab with do ya?

This church needs men.

Flower Power?

Sorcery or gullibility?

We believe they have lost their way.

If you are not healed, He doesn't care!

They do not understand the difference between the ministration of Law and Grace.

Who is the target audience?

The verse deals with non-moral transgressions, such as forgetting to show up at my birthday party, not with moral transgressions. They get credit for at least pulling something from the bible.

If it is impossible, doesn't that mean it is impossible?

Biblical faith is not irrational or contractory to reality.

So, faith is a narcotic that lulls you into false security?

Was Jesus wrong to not sleep in the Garden of Gethsemane? Which faith is better, the one Jesus had that kept him up all night or the one heralded by this sign?
